Should parents arrange dates for their children?

My father asked a girl on a date for me once and I had no intention of asking her out. She said yes and I took her to a concert. She was really nice but not my soul mate or anything. I was surprised and slightly annoyed that my father asked this girl out for me, but since she turned out to be pretty nice, I am kind of glad.
