American Superbowl

I was very happy and excited to watch the American Superbowl on Beijing Television (BTV-6) on the morning of Feb 4.

Before the game I told my Chinese wife that the Superbowl was by far the most important sporting event in the United States and that the entire US would be watching it on television or online. Half-way through the game the electricity at the stadium went out and the game was delayed for over 30 minutes.

During the very embarrassing delay my wife looked at me, smiled gently, and said "America is truly a great country".
