China Daily | Updated: 2017-09-25 07:55

Popular Chinese actor Jin Dong (second from right) and executives from FAW, one of the country's biggest auto groups, pose beside the new Red Flag H7 at a launch ceremony for the large sedan on Thursday in Beijing. The model retails between 249,800 yuan ($37,885) and 479,800 yuan. It has three engine options - 1.8-liter turbo four-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder and 3.0-liter V6. The 3.0-liter version produces a maximum power of 170kW/6000rpm and offers a peak torque of 300Nm/3000rpm. The sedan comes with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. It also has a slew of high-tech features, such as adaptive cruise control, a night vision system and blind spot detection. Targeting the business elite, the model competes with the likes of the Audi A6 and the Toyota Crown. The H7 is 5095mm long, 1875mm wide and 1485mm high. Actor Jin Dong, 40, is the first image ambassador of the icon Red Flag brand, according to FAW. The group's newly-installed Chairman Xu Liuping said on Thursday that the new H7 is the "prelude and sentry" of a new revival plan for the Red Flag, which will be revealed before the end of this year. The group aims to build the Red Flag into "China's top premium car brand favored by both State leaders and common people" in the years to come.
