Sun Tingjiang

Eighth Route Army veteran, who fought to liberate counties including Yishui, Shandong province.

Li Zhanrui

Veteran who participated in air battles against Japan in India, Myanmar and Thailand.

Lin Shangyuan

Son of General Lin Xunnan, who commanded a series of battles including a large one in north Guangdong province.

Tong Rongfang

Son of General Tong Lin'ge, one of the high ranking Kuomintang officers. He was killed in action.

Chen Liren

Eldest grandson of Tan Kah Kee, a prominent figure in the overseas Chinese community of Southeast Asia in 20th century. Tan led overseas Chinese to support the war effort in China.

Zhang Sujiu

Daughter of General Zhang Zhizhong, who led troops in Shanghai battles in 1932 and 1937.

Makhmut Gareev

Currently president of the Russian Academy of Military Sciences, who took part in the battle to liberate Mudanjiang in Northeast China's Heilongjiang province in 1945.

Anna Chennault

The widow of World War II leader Lieutenant General Claire Lee Chennault, who was commander of US air operations in China.

J.V. Vinyard

A former US pilot who participated in more than 600 hours of operational flights in transport aircraft on the dangerous and difficult Assam-Bengal-China Air Routes, carrying goods and materials to China.

G. Shudlo

A veteran of the Soviet Red Army who participated in the battle to liberate the city of Shenyang in northeastern China.

Hirosumi Kobayashi

Arrived in China as an enemy soldier but later joined the Eighth Route Army of the National Revolutionary Army under the leadership of the Communist Party of China.

Y.N. Yasnev

A veteran of the Soviet Red Army, took part in the effort to liberate Northeast China.

J. Stilwell

The grandson of former US Army General Joseph Warren Stilwell, who helped the Chinese government and people to fight against Japanese aggression.

T. Rabe

The grandson of John Rabe, a German businessman who helped to protect Chinese civilians during the Nanjing Massacre.

S. Borkar

The niece of Doctor Dwarkanath Kotnis, who came to China in 1938 to provide medical assistance when China fought against the Japanese invasion. He died in China in 1942.

M.W. Bethune

Grandson of a cousin of Norman Bethune, a well-known Canadian surgeon who arrived in early 1938 in Yan'an to provide medical services to Chinese troops during WWII and died of septicemia in 1939.
