95 killed, 388 injured in blasts in February

At least 95 people were killed and 388 injured in 40 bomb blasts in Pakistan during February, as militants carried out terrorist attacks across the country, according to official statistics.

Out the 40 bomb attacks, six were suicide bombings that together killed 34 people and injured 118 others in different areas of the country.

The number of casualties during February was nearly 44 percent lower than those in January.

The number of deaths in bombings during decreased in February by almost 38 percent compared with the same period last year.

During February, no high-profile officials came under attack, but militants targeted civilians, security forces and police.

The worst attack of the period came on Feb 13, when a suicide bomber struck a bus carrying police personnel in the southern port city of Karachi, killing 14 people and leaving 58 others injured.

The majority of the bomb attacks remained unclaimed, but the biggest attacks were claimed by the Pakistan Taliban and its affiliated groups.
