Seven Russian films, including Icebreaker, The Doctor, Three Days Away From Spring and Earthquake, are being screened for Chinese audiences during the 2017 China-Russian Film Festival, which continues through June 25.

The films fall into different genres and themes, and represent the artistic and production level of modern Russia's film industry.

The festival opened in Beijing on June 15, and films are being show in the Palace Cinema of China World Mall in the capital. Festival activities are also being held in a second host city — Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang province.

The opening ceremony was attended by authorities from both countries' film departments, representatives from the Russian embassy in Beijing, a Russian film delegation consisting of Russian film producers and directors, as well as their Chinese counterparts.

The festival is designed to boost film industry exchanges between China and Russia according to an agreement reached by top leaders from both countries. It is jointly organized by the Russian ministry of culture and China's State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television.
