An old man in Dalian has taken two months to build a stone path which provides 2,000 residents a shortcut to the bus stop.

One day in July, when Wang Bingzhang noticed that workers were repairing a nearby trunk road, he thought of the narrow dirt path used by the neighbors.

After getting permission from the workers, he collected some cement and sand from the waste of the construction site and started to repair the narrow path.

The 76-year-old worked more than 10 hours a day since then, drawing the design, collecting the materials, cutting the stones, and binding together the stones with cement and sand.

All of the 10 rectangles of stones, each weighing more than 50 kilograms, were moved to the site by Wang himself.

Although there were difficulties, including the worries raised by his family, he never gave up.

Some neighbors were moved by Wang and offered some cement and sand. Following their advice Wang also made a railing along the road.

The warm-hearted Wang won the appreciation and support of the nearby residents. They named the road "Road of Love" and volunteered to maintain it.
