Federation helps 5 million migrants recoup unpaid wages
The All-China Federation of Trade Unions has helped more than 5 million migrant workers get unpaid wages totaling more than 30 billion yuan ($4.5 billion) in the past five years, a federation official said.
Wang Xiaofeng, the federation's spokesman, also said the organization helped almost 24.6 million migrant workers, who had difficulties getting back home for family reunions, to return to their hometowns from 2012 to 2017.
It also has given free legal consultancy services to more than 50 million migrant workers. It has been a normal practice for federations of different levels to visit workers having difficulties during the New Year and the Spring Festival holidays.
In the past five years, the federation has visited more than 42.8 million workers and offered them about 202 million yuan in aid, Wang said.
