More than 70 of China's top entrepreneurs, economists, and scholars will gather next month to discuss the country's business future amid a changing economic climate.

The 7th China Green Companies Summit, under the theme An Era of Transformation: Reality and Aspirations, will be held in Nanning, the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region from April 20 to 22.

The summit was founded in 2008 by the China Entrepreneur Club, which comprises 46 of the wealthiest private entrepreneurs in the country, and has been dedicated to promoting sustainability both in business and economic growth.

Liu Chuan Zhi, chairman of the China Entrepreneur Club and Chairman of the Board at Legend Holdings, said at a news conference on March 25 that the forum differs from others because it focuses on entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship

"This forum itself cannot just be a display of how prestigious our members are," he said. "We cannot just discuss a little bit of everything. We should make everyone attending be informed and encouraged to think more about what to do for their companies."

Zhu Xinli, chairman of Huiyuan Juice Group, said the summit has become a gathering where entrepreneurs can inspire each other. He compared it to a fuel station for entrepreneurs to fill up with energy and ideas.

"Green companies refer to companies that are environmentally friendly and have a strong sense of social responsibility," he said. "So the first task of entrepreneurs who take part in the meeting is to make their companies perform well and be responsible to society, the nation and their employees."

This year's topics will cover big data, Internet thinking, company innovation and new investment opportunities. There will also be two forums on how to use business to reduce pollution. It will also release China Top 100 Creen Companies ranking, based on comprehensive criteria concerning corporate responsibility, the environment, and innovation.

Dozens of companies and political figures from France, Belgium, India, the United Kingdom and Finland will also take part.
