Wrestling 'Tyson'

Zhao Haijun, a Henan province wrestler was bitten on the right arm by another wrestler from Inner Mongolia on Saturday in the eighth finals during the National Games in Shenyang, qndb.net reported. The incident was called labeled a 'Tyson' bite after he bit off a portion of boxer Evander Holyfield's ear during a 1997 championship bout.

Loyal dog

A dog waited in a local temple in Chengdu, Sichuan province for half a month before sniffing out its owner's car, Huaxi Metropolitan newspaper reported.

Many were thinking about taking the loyal dog home, but worried it would miss its real owner.

Cheating hearts

Chen Gang, a 27-year-old resident in Chongqing was cheated out of more than 100,000 yuan in two years by a girl he met online.

His “girlfriend” and her other family members turned out to be the same person, who was a 29-year-old married woman, nbd.com.cn reported.

Subway emergency

Three passengers fell into a subway tunnel on Sunday in Shenzhen when the vehicle suddenly stopped and only one door opened, people.com.cn reported.

The passengers were rescued after a few minutes and local authorities said the vehicle stopped after a passenger hit an emergency door switch by mistake.

Fang Zhouzi, a biochemist and popular scientific writer well known for his campaign against pseudoscience, urged people to eat genetically modified corn, saying it has long been proved safe, amid a widespread fear of genetically modified food in China.

Ambulance mix

Trending news across China on Sept 9

Many cars giving way to an ambulance on Sept 6 in Nanjing prompting images of the rare sight to go viral on Sina Weibo and moved lots of people. However the driver of the ambulance said it was a mistake. The cars were actually avoiding a car breaking down on the road.

Orange love

A boy in Wuhan, Hubei province got a ticket for Korean star Jang Keun Suk for his girlfriend by purchasing and drinking a dozen boxes of orange juice. The tickets were not for sale and can only be obtained by winning a lottery offered by the brand of orange juice. But the boy was dumped by the girl for being unsuitable a week before the gig and the girl attended alone.

Snake wine

A female resident surnamed Liu in Shuangcheng, Heilongjiang province was bitten by a snake, which she had put into a wine crock three months ago to drink to cure rheumatism, dbw.cn reported. The snake suddenly slipped out and nipped her hand when she opened the crock to refill some wine.
