Ancient temple school enrolls women students

Hanshan College, affiliated to Hanshan Temple in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, is enrolling women students for the first time.

The applicants must be single and between the ages of 19 and 40, the Shanghai Morning Post reported.

The decade-old college will enroll one class to study Buddhism, and another for those who aspire to become nuns.

The length of schooling will be one year and four years respectively, according to the enrollment guide.

The applicants are required to have an education background of senior high school or above.

Students must be up at 4 am and they will have a full schedule except for a one-hour noon break, according to the college.
