The entry-exit inspection and quarantine authority in an East China city stopped 22,320 imitation guns from being exported to Egypt, China's top quality authority said on July 29.

The entry-exit inspection and quarantine authority in Yiwu, Zhejiang province, found 84 boxes of imitation machine guns and toy guns among 3,922 boxes of plastic toys to be exported to Egypt by a local company, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said.

China's gun control law forbids producing or selling imitation guns that can cause injury.

Yiwu's entry-exit inspection and quarantine authority has handed the guns over to the police and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine will blacklist the buyer of the imitation guns, the administration said.
