A two-year-old girl died after being thrown from her stroller during a parking space dispute, Beijing Times reported.

The incident happened just before 9 pm on Tuesday when a woman pushing her sleeping baby stopped at a bus stop to check on her child in the Daxing district of south Beijing.

Surveillance footage showed two men in a white car trying to pull over near where the woman had briefly stopped. The video shows a man get out of the passenger seat door and after a heated exchange of words started to beat the woman before throwing the baby to the ground from the stroller.

The men can be seen driving away quickly after the incident and the baby died on the way to hospital.

Police arrested a man at a hot spring resort in the Fengtai district of the capital at about 3 pm Wednesday, around 18 hours after the incident. The man, surnamed Han, is 42 years old and had just been released from jail after serving a sentence for stealing.

Hong Daode, a law professor with China University of Political Science and Law, said the man could face charges of intentional homicide.
