Daughter faces court over mother's death

A 20-year-old woman was put on trial for killing her mother in Guangdong province on Thursday, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported.
The defendant, surnamed Xiong, continuously hit her bed-ridden mother Zeng, 42, according to public prosecutors at Dongguan No 1 Intermediate People's Court.
The mother's body was discovered at about 8 am on Jan 1.
A verdict was not issued on Thursday.
