2 military jets, 3 pilots missing in Taiwan

TAIPEI - Two military jets and three pilots aboard went missing due to an accident in the mountainous area in Yilan county of Taiwan Tuesday evening when conducting training, according to Taiwan's military authorities.
The two surveillance jets took off at 7:39 pm, but disappeared from radar screen around 7:52 pm, the military authorities said, adding that the cause for the accident remains unclear.
According to staff participating in the searching, local people heard the sound of explosions near a highway in the area.
The local military is going all out to search for the missing pilots.
