Road accident kills 5 in SW China

BEIJING - A traffic accident has killed five people and left five others injured after a light truck became tangled with a motorbike and ran into a crowd in a village in southwest China's Guizhou Province.
The accident, which happened at around 22:40 Wednesday in Liuchang Township, killed 4 people instantly when the truck hit the crowd. One victim died later due to severe injuries despite treatment in the hospital.
The injured are in stable conditions.
The truck driver, Huang Longfei, was detained by local police.
An investigation into the accident is under way.
