Lei is known as the Steve Jobs of China, the late founder of Apple Inc, the global technology company that rolled out the iPhone. Lei Jun founded Xiaomi in 2010 and launched high-performance smartphones at affordable prices. The Beijing-based company sold 61 million handsets last year. Xiaomi has no physical stores and sells exclusively from online channels. Lei also chairs software service provider Kingsoft Co Ltd and YY, a Chinese social media site he co-founded.
