They are the new breed of entrepreneurs with creative ideas. Last year, Forbes magazine listed the top 10 innovators in China.

They included Zhang Xiaolong, father of instant messaging app WeChat, Lei Jun, founder and CEO of smartphone company Xiaomi Corp, Peng Lei, CEO of mobile payment platform Alipay, and Wang Tao, founder and CEO of drone maker DJI Technology Co. Below are the big four:

Position: Senior vice-president

Four years ago, a team led by Zhang developed WeChat, the most popular instant messaging platform in China. In the second quarter of this year, WeChat reported more than 600 million monthly regular users. Since 2011, it has simply changed the way the online community interacts. Zhang also developed QQ mail and Foxmail.
