Shanghai officially announced the design for the China Corporate United Pavilion on Monday.

The design has been delivered to the organizers of the Milan Expo 2015.

The pavilion, built with a steel structure, covers an area of 1,270 square meters, on which 2,000 sq m of buildings will be erected, according to the design by the Tongji Architectural Design and Research Institute (Group) Co Ltd.

Ren Lizhi, vice-president of the company in charge of the design, said the pavilion themed "China Seeds" will showcase Chinese enterprises' sustainable development solutions in the six exhibition sections.

"The release of the design is a key part of the city's preparations for the world expo," said Chen Anjie, director of the executive committee of the China Corporate United Pavilion.

"We will choose enterprises with a sharp competitive edge, a strong influence and a branding effect in the fields of resources, food, technology and energy as exhibitors which should accord with the expo's green, sustainable and innovative concept," Chen said.

"Our purpose is to turn the pavilion into a first-class modern experimental exhibition hall."

To date, some giant State-level enterprises, such as the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd, Baosteel and Shanghai Electrics, have agreed to be exhibitors, according to the committee.

"Discussions are underway with some well-known enterprises about their participation," Chen said.
