China's electricity use will grow by around 6 percent to 5 trillion kilowatt-hours for the whole year as the central government's measures to boost the economy took effect, said the State Electricity Regulatory Commission on its website on Wednesday.

China consumed 399.8 billion kilowatt-hours in October, an increase of about 6.1 percent from a year earlier, according to the National Energy Administration.

Power use rose 2.9 percent year-on-year in September and 3.6 percent in August. The growth was 11.7 percent in 2011.

The commission said use in the fourth quarter will continue to rise as the economy recovers.

Since the beginning of the year, the growth rate of the country's power use has kept falling until October, the commission said.
