Shenyang's exports hit $4.6b in 7 months

Shenyang Customs said on Sunday that the total export value of Shenyang, capital of Liaoning province, reached 28.34 billion yuan ($4.61 billion) in the first seven months of 2014, a year-on-year increase of 35.7 percent. The growth is 34.6 percentage points higher than the national average.

Exports of general trade blossomed to 21.65 billion yuan, up 50.1 percent. And exports of private firms grew substantially, reaching 15.08 billion yuan, up 78 percent.

Exports to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations multiplied to 4.82 billion, up 1.2 times. The export volume to the United States, European Union, Korea and Japan rapidly increased, with respective growths of 36.1 percent, 22.8 percent, 25 percent and 14.4 percent.

Garment export multiplied to 2 billion yuan, up 2.7 times. Other traditional merchandise, such as electrical product, new high-tech product, textile, farm products and steel, also grew.
