Home Inns Group, China's leading budget hotel group, recently started exhibiting its "ideal living room" at the ongoing 10th Shanghai Biennale, revealing its ambition to explore the mid to high-end hospitality market.

The Shanghai Biennale is regarded as the highest level contemporary art event in Shanghai and the most established art biennale in China. This year, its theme is the "social factory" and the exhibition will close on March 31.

"Hotels usually act as an important space for social life. Apart from providing comfortable bedrooms for our guests, Home Inns also pays attention to the importance of living rooms, which makes a complete home", said Xu Luowei, senior brand director of the hotel group.

The living room on show was created by a number of renowned domestic artists, who tried to send the message that people living in modern cities are tired of a dull life, and they look forward to a fresh and different experience during their travels to various cities.

Home Inns Group started its business as a budget chain, but it is now entering the medium- and high-end market with the new brands Yitel and Home Inn Plus.
