Food safety

In 2019, more than 246,000 cases of violations of laws and regulations were investigated nationwide, with 2,604 households asked to suspend production and business operations and 17,000 suspects captured.

Market regulatory authorities also conducted supervision and random inspection for 269,000 batches of edible goods for food safety, and disposed of 6,213 batches of substandard products. The food safety self-inspection report rate reached 100 percent from infant formula milk powder manufacturers.
