Consumption

China is working to transform and upgrade pedestrian streets and develop brand convenience stores to promote urban consumption, according to the Ministry of Commerce. In the first 11 months, key monitoring convenience store companies entered more than 70 cities at or above prefecture level across the country, with more than 14,000 stores newly opened.

The ministry also promoted the building of an efficient urban and rural distribution system in logistics, with more than 18,000 end distribution networks newly developed in cities, a year-on-year increase of 9.3 percent.
