Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum

Xi, Trong call trip boost to both

Located in Hanoi, the mausoleum is the resting place of Ho Chi Minh and a symbol of the gratitude and respect the Vietnamese people feel for him.

Construction work began Sept 2, 1973, and the structure formally opened on Aug 29, 1975.

The mausoleum was inspired by Lenin's Mausoleum in Moscow but incorporates distinct Vietnamese architectural elements, such as the sloping roof. The exterior is made of gray granite, while the interior is gray, black, and red polished stone.

Ho Chi Minh's body is preserved in the cooled, central hall of the mausoleum, which is protected by a military honor guard. The body lies in a glass case with dim lights.

Ho Chi Minh stilt house in Hanoi

A tourist spot in Vietnam's capital city, the stilt house is a small, two-story wooden structure in front of the Presidential Palace where Ho Chi Minh spent the last part of his life.

The Vietnamese leader refused to live in the luxurious French colonial style building. Taking into account the situation of the nation's people, he ordered a small, modest wooden house be built on the other side of the lake.
