Tech security experts go head-to-head in Karamay

The Elite Network Security Competition was held in Karamay, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region from July 21 to 22, as a part of the 2016 Silk Road Science Festival.

More than a dozen domestic and foreign teams went head-to-head in a Capture the Flag (CTF) computer security competition. Team Fly Pig, from China, won the championship and received an 80,000 yuan ($11,980) cash prize. Team Dc ua from Ukraine, ranked number one in the world for CTF, came third.

Two local teams Fire of Stars and Xj-nu took home encouragement awards for their efforts.

The competition was jointly organized by the Karamay government, the Xinjiang Association for Science and Technology and China Electronic Cyberspace Great Wall Company.

The 2016 Silk Road Science Festival was held from July 21 to 26, to enhance communication regarding science and technology innovation among countries along the Silk Road.
