The Karamay Youth Science Center was first put into use on April 27, 2013.

The center hosts technology training and extracurricular activities for adolescents, to stimulate their interest in science.

The center has five floors with an overall area of 20,000 square meters. It has 22 professional labs and 16 multi functional halls, including audio-visual and photography studios and can accommodate 1,500 people at the same time.

The center has over 80 extracurricular classes, including model planes, model ships, model cars and robots. It has also created new classes in 3D printing and animation.

The center was established to offer a place where kids can learn about science and technology. It is expected to improve their ability to solve problems independently.

The center is operated by Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Graduates from key universities in China and expats have settled down in the center. Thanks to the rich educational resources, the center is expected to inspire students' interest for science and equip them with essential knowledge and skills for future life.
