Karamay, an oil city in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, donated goods to hospitals and schools in southwestern Pakistan's city of Gwadar on April 4.

The donation ceremony was held at Gwadar port, where Chen Xinfa, Karamay's Party chief presented an ambulance key representing the friendship and support between the two cities to Babu Gulab, the chairman of the Gwadar District Council.

The donations that Karamay gave to Gwadar included an ambulance, 300 school uniforms, and 12 years of free education, from primary school to high school, for 200 local students, in an effort to improve the medical and educational welfare in Gwadar and Pakistan. Chen also invited Pakistani officials to attend the "Belt and Road" Karamay Forum held in August.

Gulab expressed his gratitude to Karamay at the ceremony for its contribution to Gwadar's economic development and social welfare.

Xinjiang sent a delegation headed by Zhang Chunxian, Party chief of the autonomous region, to Pakistan on April 3 to 6 to study local economic and social development and seek cooperation opportunities.
