From Jan 4 to 8, Xinjiang Oil Field Corporation held a meeting themed "deepening the reform, improving quality and efficiency" with 54 companies from the petroleum industry in attendance.

A sharp drop in the price of oil has brought challenges for all companies in Karamay in the petroleum industrial chain. Xinjiang Oil Field Corporation has, accordingly, carried out campaigns to deepen reforms, enhance management, employ modern and scientific management approaches and improve production quality and efficiency.

Chen Xinfa, general manager of the corporation, pointed out two major goals at the meeting – increasing income and reducing expenses. To achieve them, all resources including production equipment, human resources and the market should be restructured. In particular, the hierarchy should be simplified.

Meanwhile, Chen listed three requirements: first, carefully analyze oil price trends and adjust operational plans in time. Second, carry out a quantitative evaluation to boost workers’ enthusiasm. Third, guarantee employees' basic rights and interests, even with fewer profits.
