
The 2nd China Household Crafts Culture Expo opened its doors on Tuesday, in Anxi county in Southeast China's Fujian province.
A dazzling array of home crafts including furniture, ceramics, tea sets and other various cultural creative products are on display at the expo.
In addition to the exhibition, activities such as art design competitions, cultural forums and business promotion conferences will also be held on the sidelines of the event.
Anxi, long renowned for producing Tianguanyin, a variety of Oolong tea, has also recently experienced rapid development in the household crafts industry.
Statistics show that there are roughly 2,250 companies and 3,000 workshops specializing in home crafts production in the county. Estimates of revenue from the county's home craft industry this year go up to 13 billion yuan ( $2 billion), an uptick of 20 percent over last year.
According to Gao Xiangrong, Party chief of the county, hosting the expo will further improve Anxi's profile and inject new vitality into the transformation and upgrading of its household crafts industry.
