A new high-speed railway that links Fujian's Longyan City and Jiangxi's Ganzhou conducted a test run on October 14, according to the Nanchang Railway Bureau.

When the already-in-service Xiamen-Longyan High-speed Railway connects with the new railway, travel time between Ganzhou and Xiamen will be cut to 2.5 hours or less.

The 249.418-km-long railway starts at Ganxian County in Ganzhou City, and ends at Longyan City in Fujian Province. The railway's designed speed is 200km/h.

The eight stations along the railway include: Ganxian – Yudu – North Huichang – Ruijin – South Changting – Guanzhaishan – Shanghang Gutian – Longyan.

The operation of the new line will complement the current railway networks and greatly improve Jiangxi's transport capabilities to the Haixi Economic Zone (West of the Taiwan Strait) and the central China region.
