The city of Xiamen in Fujian province will play host to an international design business week from Oct 30 to Nov 2.

The Red Dot in China design business week, as it is known, will be held in Xiamen from Oct 30 to Nov 2, according to a press conference co-hosted by the committee of Germany Red Dot Design Award and Xiamen city that was held on May 20. The design week will bring with it two newly added accessorial activities this year – China Good Design Award ceremony and a design fair.

The business week composes of a Red Dot exhibition and a Red Dot school. The exhibition will showcase 170 designs, as recommended by the 2015 Red Dot Awards, and the school will invite world famous designers and Red Dot Award judges to give Chinese young designers a systematic training.

It is hoped that the fair can help match Chinese e-business companies with exhibiting designers and enterprises to attract investment and promote sales. The China Good Design Awards is open to applicants worldwide and will host its award ceremony during the week.

The Xiamen International Design Business Week – ‘Red Dot in China’ has been held in the port city for three years. It is the largest design business exhibition in the Asian-Pacific region and is the only one of its kind in China.
