On March 31, the Fuzhou bureau of commerce released that the city's total value of tertiary industry sales reached 20.6 billion yuan ($3.4 billion) in the first two months of 2015, a year-on-year increase of 12.4 percent.

During the same period, the total retail sales of consumer goods increased rapidly, up 14.7 percent over last year, topping the province in both the total sales volume and growth rate.

Among the tertiary sectors, the accommodation, catering services and financial sectors have shown good momentum with a year-on-year increase of 4.9 percent and 31.8 percent respectively.

The profit and non-profit service sectors have also developed smoothly, and new forms of businesses related to the Internet continued to expand with a year-on-year increase of 11.7 percent.

Affected by the on-going drop in international crude oil prices, petroleum products in Fuzhou, meanwhile, declined in price while increased in sales in the first two months.
