Xiamen to open more regular International air routes in 2015

More air routes are expected to be opened between Xiamen and cities in other countries in 2015, according to the report. The Xiamen-Sydney air route has entered a preparation phase, and Xiamen Airlines is expected to launch a new Xiamen-Amsterdam air route by the middle of 2015.

Under the opportunities of government’s support to Fujian’s development and the opening of the Fujian Free Trade Zone, Xiamen’s International air route network is expected to be developed rapidly this year.

Currently, Xiamen has direct flights flying to Singapore, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Jakarta, Siem Reap, Seoul, Jeju Island, Tokyo, and Amsterdam. In addition, flights to Hanoi, Nice and Sydney are expected to open within this year.

According to the Xiamen Airlines, they plan to introduce 19 new planes this year and build an aircraft fleet consisting of 136 planes, including 6 Boeing 787 Dreamliners by the end of 2015. Besides, the Xiamen Airlines has realized a turnover of RMB 2 billion in 2014, up 48% compared with the same period of the previous year.
