The metro line 1 will stretch 30.3 km from the southern part of Xiamen Island to Jimei District in the north, with 25.6km of underground line, 2.8km of overhead line and 1.9km on the ground.
According to the Xiamen government, Xiamen Metro Line 1 entered its phase 2 construction after all 24 stations were plotted out by barriers in phase 1. Over 800 equipments have put into operation for the metro line 1 construction, which has an average depth of 18 meters.
With investment of 23.2 billion on phase 1, the metro line 1 was plotted out to stretch 30.3 km from the southern part of Xiamen Island to Jimei District in the north, with 25.6km of underground line, 2.8km of overhead line and 1.9km on the ground.
The construction on metro line 1 is mainly taking place underground, and the underground tunnel is 6 meters in diameter and has average depth of about 18 meters.
Earth excavation and construction on the main structures of the Lianhua Lukou stop, SM City Plaza stop, Gaoqi stop, Yuanboyuan stop, Chengyi Square stop, Software Park stop, Jimei Avenue stop, and the Tianshui Lu stop have begun.
Metro Line 1 will be the backbone line of Xiamen’s planned metro line network, and has 24 planned stops: Zhenhai Lu stop, Zhongshan Park stop, Jiangjunci stop, Wenzao stop, Hubin Dong Lu stop, Lianban stop, Lianhua Lukou stop, Lvcuo stop, SM City Plaza stop, Tangbian stop, Torch Park stop, Gaodian stop, Gaoqi stop, Jimei college village stop, Yuanboyuan stop, Lingjin Lu stop, Dongren stop, Jimei centeral stop, Chengyi Square stop, Software Park (Phase III) stop, Jimei Avenue stop, Tianshui Lu stop, Xiamen North Railway Station stop and Yannei North Square stop.
