Liu Mengyin’s calligraphy exhibition opened on Nov 16 and will last until Nov 20 in Xiamen, Fujian province.

The exhibition is free to the public and shows 300 works of 80 fonts, which include eight Chinese traditional calligraphy styles and more created by Liu.

Liu made efforts to create calligraphy styles, and his self-made hieroglyphics of the twelve Chinese zodiac signs (mouse, bull, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, cock, dog, pig) got a national patent certificate.

Huge hieroglyphics of “dragon”, “tiger” and 28 styles of “longevity” make up part of the event, which also displays part of a 2,008-meter scroll of Chinese classic book scripts in different writing styles.

Some exhibits were entered into a charitable auction at 10 o’clock on Nov 18 at Xiamen Municipal Library, and all contributions were donated to left-behind children in Fujian mountain areas.
