During the Dragon Boat Festival vacation, the ”animal stars” of Xiamen Lingling International Circus World attracted many families with children. According to the Lingling International Circus World, it accommodated more than 16,000 people- from May 31 to June 2.

Located in Jimei New Town, Lingling International Circus World started construction in 2012. With a total investment of over 1 billion yuan ($160,100,000), the project aimed at establishing itself as a leading brand. In addition to the Grand Circus Theater which is now running, a super 5 star circus-themed hotel, a street for circus and magic shows and a museum of natural specimens will also be built here, covering an area of over 350 mu (about 23.4 hectares) and which will also provide tourists with food, accommodation, transportation, entertainment and shopping. It is estimated that, after entering service, the annual number of accommodated tourists will exceed 3 million people.

“The Lingling International Circus World officially opened on June 28. More performances are now being offered, and tourist numbers will further increase,” said Xu Yihai, deputy general manager of Xiamen Lingling International Circus World. At present, the construction of the street for performances and the museum are underway, and the main buildings of the circus-themed hotel are expected to be completed before the end of this year.
