An Internet user called momov uploaded nine photos on Weibo of a toddler dressed in a monk's robe at Xichan Temple on Monday, and triggered strong reactions online.

The nine photos feature the toddler in a monk's robe wandering around the temple, sometimes staring afar as if in mediation and sometimes trying to communicate with the real monks.

The photographer, momov, later revealed that he was the father of the 14-month-old boy. The idea of dressing his son up as a monk was just on a whim, and he certainly didn't expect the online frenzy.

As of noon on Tuesday, the photos were forwarded more than 33,400 times and received 5,369 comments, and many inspired bloggers declared they are planning to take similar photos with their children.
