Haicang Boulevard, which runs along the eastern coast of Haicang district in Xiamen, will be covered in a 4G wireless network and people near the road can enjoy free Wi-Fi service, said the local economic and trade bureau.
The free Wi-Fi service is part of Haicang’s plan for smart traffic and tourism, aimed at appealing to more tourists and creating an enjoyable atmosphere for visitors.
According to the plan, Haicang will build 20 smart shuttle bus stations with comprehensive traffic information, a bike-rental system as well as a batch of smart houses providing intelligent control applications.
