A deputy at the ongoing second session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC) wants to reduce enterprise fees and enterprise burdens.

"Fujian has some of the lowest enterprise fees, and it launched tax policies to ease enterprise burdens in 2013, reducing enterprise regulatory charges by 4 billion ($650 million)," said Zhou Lianqing, director of the Fujian Foreign Economic and Trade Commission and NPC deputy.

Zhou said that there are still a variety of charges set up by the central government and relative central departments, not only increasing government management cost, but raising enterprise operational costs.

He suggests the government reduce charges on enterprises and work out a detailed list indicating all pertinent charges. Those not included on the list should be removed.
