Fujian province is a leader in agricultural cooperation with Taiwan and has added 73 province-level farmer innovation parks and bases, since 2013, with plans to give them more policy support to develop its modern agriculture, Xinhuanet has reported.

Its Anxi county, the country's largest tea producer is one of the first nine farmer innovation parks in the province. The county has 1,000 years of tea cultivation experience and has developed intensive planting methods, better production and quality, international brands, a diverse market, and industry clusters.

Chen Chuanxi, president of the Juyuan Tea Cooperative, in Quanzhou, who received a 500,000 yuan ($82,600) famer innovation park subsidy, is quite confident about the quality of his tea and has this to say: "Our tea all has its own identity and you can find everything you need to know about it by simply scanning the code on the package."

Cai Jianming, head of a county agricultural department, has said that they will work harder to improve safety and quality and promote their brand value.

Fujian's six national Taiwan farmer innovation parks (out of a total of 29 nationally) make it a leader in cross-Straits agricultural communication and cooperation.

Zhang Lixian, head of the provincial Agriculture Department, has said that the Taiwan farmer innovation parks have advanced production methods and operations, which could make them models in modern agriculture.

In 2013, the Fujian government approved nine Taiwan farmer innovation parks and 64 demonstration sites, with special funding of 160 million yuan and tax, land, electric power, and financial policy support. Thus far, its innovation parks have 563 enterprises which have built modern agriculture demonstration sites and their production methods have changed, to increase income and yields.
