This is a provincial development area with National Reform and Development Commission and the provincial government approval and a strategic project for the Nanping Party and city government’s social and economic development.

After years of construction work, the industrial park has formed four development areas – Changsha electronics and auto parts, Taxia electric wires and cables and non-ferrous metals, Shuidong knitting and weaving -- and a Luoyuan comprehensive industrial area. Plans call for a 6.08-sq-km area that is home to 65 leading high-tech companies in electronics, electromechanical integration technology, environmental protection, and biotechnology.

There are three companies worth more than 100 million yuan ($16.29 million) each, and a national trial informatization company, and a provincial informatization trial company, and three province-level technology centers. These companies have won more than 40 national and ministerial science and technology awards. Overall output value for the park, in 2007, exceeded 1 billion yuan.

The previous year, the park joined the Yanping district government in investing in a greenbelt industrial zone covering 26 sq km, including 1,573 hectares for five sub-areas. Phase I of the first area – the Daheng Center – covers 100 hectares for green food, digital information, biochemistry, textiles, clothing, and machining. The park’s key projects are the Luoyuan sub-area and Daheng Green Industrial Zone.
