When it coms to drinking your cup of cappuccino, you have surely come across heart shaped foam or some other pattern atop the coffee cup. But, in Japan, young artists have taken coffee art to a whole new level. With just a spoon and a toothpick, they are turning coffee froth into eye-opening 3D masterpieces.

Tired of mixing your latte with powered cinnamon? Try a pinch of creation!

Using milky foam, Kohei Matsuno in Tokyo is turning coffee into 3D wonders.

He says the craft is a race against time, as all of the works have to be completed within five minutes.

"The foam keeps breaking down, so you become unable to draw fine details. In other words, you can’t make 3D art that defies gravity," said Kohei.

Customers say the works look too cute to be drunk.

"Seeing it in 3D is a first, and it looks just like him. So it’s a bit of a shame to actually drink it. But even so, I think I’m going to have to, so thank you very much!" said Akira Yoshioka, customer.

Matsuno started his 3D coffee art career two years ago. And he is not the only coffee artist in Japan. Kazuki Yamamoto has taken the craft to an even higher level. Giraffes, bunnies, bears and some noted cartoon characters have also joined the foamy family. Some of them can even pop out of cups.
