Police officer wins thumbs up for directing traffic on snowy days

An image depicting icicles forming on a police cap went viral on the internet, winning thumbs up from netizens.

The cap's owner is Ma Qiang, a police officer at a traffic police detachment in Shangqiu city, Central China's Henan province. Ma stood on the street to direct traffic for more than three hours after a heavy snow hit the city at around 4 pm on Nov 22, 2016.

To ease the traffic burden in the severe weather, Ma had no time to remove the snow falling on his clothes and cap, which piled up and even formed icicles.

Seeing the icicles on Ma's cap, internet users praised Ma as one who truly serves people and sincerely called him "icicles' brother".

However, Ma said he did not want to be an online celebrity and he just did his job.
