A police chief in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has been accused of running a prostitution ring, prosecutors said on Tuesday.

The public security director, identified only as Lyu, is among three suspects charged by the Yanshan district people's procuratorate in Guilin.

The men are accused of forcing a 13-year-old girl to have sex with three men in three hotels between Jan 17 and 19, authorities said.

The arrests followed a complaint by the girl's parents.

Prosecutors dropped an earlier rape allegation against Lyu, the head of public security in Quanzhou county, due to lack of evidence.

The case is under investigation, police said.
