Mazda recalls 2,000 vehicles in China

Potential danger from window frames prompted Mazda to recall 2,011 units of its imported Mazda 6 Atenza in China last week, said the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine on Dec 31.

The recall was due to the potential danger of passengers suffering scratches caused by dropping or broken plastic protection on the model's window frames, said the quality watchdog.

The dropping or broken of plastic protection will expose the metal edges on the model's window frames, which may scratch passengers.

The affected cars were made between Oct 31, 2012 and Nov 6, 2013.
