Consumers' enthusiasm still remains high for the upcoming Single's Day shopping holiday, which falls on November 11 every year, according to the latest survey by marketing consultancy Accenture.

A majority of 98 percent of the 1,500 polled consumers aged between 25 and 45 said they are very likely to shop during the Single's Day shopping holiday. About 65 of the interviewees said that November 11 is the best shopping season every year. Over 70 percent of them said they have a bigger budget this year.

With the proliferation of smart devices, people are becoming more mobile in terms of shopping. Meanwhile, 12 percent said they would shop on their tablets, slightly up from the 11 percent one year earlier.

Koh Yew Hong, managing director of retail lead at Accenture Greater China, suggested that brick-and-mortar stores enhance consumers' experiences on Single's Day in order to attract more consumers on this shopping holiday which originated from the Internet. Meanwhile, the stores are encouraged to smooth over operations, including shortening the time for lining up, providing instant service and preparing adequate inventory.
