German vehicle producer Mercedes-Benz shone at the 2014 Chengdu Motor Show with 35 models on display, including its AMG and smart lines, to continue its China-focused product offensive.

As one of the fastest growing markets in China, the region is crucial to the Stuttgart-based automaker as it looks to lay the foundations for sustainable growth in the country.

Leading the charge in Chengdu was the All New C-Class L, which arrived in western China for the first time since its official launch in Beijing on August 25.

Touted as a "game changer", the All New C-Class L was "made in China, for China" and comes with a host of features made Mercedes-Benz showcases full line-up in Chengduspecifically for the Chinese market.

The features start with the car's long wheelbase, which ranks as the one of the longest in the mid-size segment. The model also boasts new, integrated luxury headrests with 6-way adjustability, a rear center console with a 220-volt power supply and USB interface.

The All New C-Class comes with the highest specifications in the segment, including full LED headlamps and taillights, a multifunction touchpad with Chinese handwriting recognition, Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive, Mercedes-Benz CONNECT and the first WiFi hotspot in its class.

Although these features are typically only found in more exclusive models, they come as standard on the All New C-Class L.

The "made for China" theme continued with the GLK 200, the new entry model of the family with a price tag of 378,000 yuan.

The GLK 200 is fitted with a locally produced 4-cylinder BlueDIRECT injection turbocharged engine and requires just 7.8 L of fuel per 100 km.

The car is the first GLK model to feature a new electric power-steering system, which Mercedes-Benz designed to give the driver precise and agile control.

The car's Active Parking Assist is equally impressive and enhances convenience and safety.
