The 9th China International Import Expo has launched its cultural exchange program, featuring 60 exhibition booths spanning more than 40,000 square meters and highlighting the event's role also as a platform for international cultural dialogue.

The program features participants from across China and two overseas sister cities. The showcase is structured around thematic zones of national-level pedestrian streets, time-honored Chinese brands, intangible cultural heritage, integrated tourism and retail experiences, urban reception spaces, and international sister cities.

A newly designed 1,500-square-meter global food zone highlights culinary themes spanning European, American, Asian, Chinese, and fusion cuisines. Chefs from Italy, Turkiye, the United States, South Korea, Lebanon, Brazil, Thailand, and Spain will present daily cooking demonstrations featuring regional specialties.

This year's edition marks a milestone with two new additions, including an intangible cultural heritage workshop and a national craftsmanship exhibition. The workshop highlights traditional techniques, including Qiang embroidery, batik, brocade weaving, rattan craftsmanship and lacquerware, allowing visitors to watch live demonstrations and take part in interactive experiences.

"This showcase conveys traditional Chinese culture while highlighting its essential role in East-West exchanges," Yang Tian, director of the craftsmanship exhibition, said.

"At its core, the CIIE is about cultural dialogue. We welcome foreign exhibitors and cultural institutions to partner with us for deeper commercial and cultural collaboration."
