At the 7th Tencent Music Entertainment Awards, Chinese singer-dancer Liu Yu spoke to China Daily about the homogenization of the Guofeng (Chinese-style) market. Despite this, he encourages creators to produce outstanding Guofeng stage productions. For his concerts, he insists on originality, constantly refreshing themes, costumes, music, and arrangements.
Liu believes that to become a better Guofeng musician, one must learn consistently, combine wisdom with original creativity, and merge timeless classics with contemporary innovation to produce higher-quality works.
